Who We Are
Academic and Athletic Sports Consulting (AASC) was founded in 2015 by former NCAA collegiate athlete, coach, trainer, scout, and lifelong student of the sports industry, James Shettleworth. He has over 20 years of experience in collegiate and scholastic athletics including:

Coach Shettleworth is committed to providing each Student-Athlete with a personalized recruiting strategy and Player development plan to make you the best player you can be.
I had the chance to observe James Shettleworth in a leadership role as a Head Coach. The one caveat that stood out to me was how fundamentally sound his players were. A student of the game, he prepares student athletes for life well after their playing careers have concluded. I can rest assured when he sends me a player, they will be prepared for rigors of being a Collegiate Athlete on and off the court.

Our mission is to prevent abuse, exploitation, and injury by protecting student-athlete welfare and monitoring their academic eligibility. We want to help student-athletes meet the academic guidelines set forth by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), and National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Academic and Athletic Sports Consulting strives to provide the best opportunities for student-athletes as a whole. We develop student athletes to reach their full academic and athletic potential.

We follow our four pillars of success to place student-athletes into the collegiate programs that are an adequate fit: Academic Advising, College Coaches Network, Athletic Player Development, and Career Counseling. This includes eligibility requirements, registrations, testing, and application assistance.

Athletic Player Development
Are you a student-athlete looking to play at the next level? Our Basketball Player Development program develops your athletic skills to give you an edge over your peers. It improves basketball IQ which gives the athlete tools to contribute to a team and increases his/her chances of obtaining a highly coveted College Athletic Scholarship. You will receive instruction from a former player & coach who is also Impact Basketball Player Development Certified. To maximize your potential, it's advised to meet with the Player Development coach at least twice per week,

Academic & Athletic Sports Consulting provides a variety of services to help you achieve your goals. We help student-athletes become successful in Sports, Academics, and in Life. We are with you through various steps from the onset of services through college, and your post playing career and transition. We focus on maximizing human potential and improving ourselves throughout our lifetime.
Nutrition Consulting
Our Nutrition Consulting plan for three months is all you need to learn the secrets of a healthy lifestyle. Our dietitians will walk you through the steps in preparing your meals and help you along with a grocery list.
Financial Aid Help
Are you a student-athlete looking for money and financial help for your college education? AASC specializes in filling your financial aid and FAFSA forms to help you earn athletic scholarships.
College Sports Eligibility
NAIA, NJCAA, and NCAA compliance eligibility can be confusing for any student-athlete. Here at AASC, we provide advice for student-athletes that are starting the college sports recruiting process.
